This year’s festival was a source of great concern due to the earlier-than-usual cherry blossom blooming, but fortunately, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom in time for the opening ceremony, creating a magnificent spectacle.
Starting with the eve festival on the 31st, the opening ceremony featuring famous invited singers, and the citizen and youth festival where residents joined together, were held consecutively, adding to the excitement.
In particular, tourists visiting the festival from other regions were amazed by the light pink waves of cherry blossoms decorating Seokjeong and busily captured the scenes with their cameras.
Additionally, a variety of experiences and activities such as a children’s concert, a unique costume cherry blossom path walk event, and a cherry blossom music concert, along with plentiful food, provided rich entertainment, creating joyful memories for both residents and tourists visiting the event site.
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “We were very worried as this was the first cherry blossom festival, but fortunately, many tourists came to the festival site, and I am grateful. We ask for your continued interest and participation in major festivals during the Gochang Visit Year, such as the upcoming 20th Gochang Green Barley Field Festival.”
