Samsung SDS Achieves Highest Grade in Korea's First Software Process Quality Certification

Samsung SDS announced on the 3rd that it has become the first company in Korea to obtain the highest grade (Grade 3) of the Software (SW) Process Quality Certification (hereinafter SP Certification).

SP Certification is a certification system in which the Korea Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency comprehensively evaluates and assigns grades to the quality capability level of SW processes of SW companies based on the Software Promotion Act.

This system has been implemented since 2009 with the purpose of improving the quality of SW processes in companies and securing reliability. Samsung SDS is the only company to have obtained the highest grade (Grade 3).

High SW process quality means that the entire process from the start of SW development to completion is consistent and continuously improved, enabling the provision of higher quality services to customers.

Grade 2 can be obtained if the project management, development, and support areas meet the standards, while Grade 3 requires recognition of organizational management and process improvement areas as well. Grade 2 recognizes quality capability at the project level, and Grade 3 at the organizational level.

Samsung SDS acquired the SP Certification in 2019 and has achieved the highest grade, Grade 3, this year through continuous improvement of quality capabilities.

Kim Jongpil, Vice President and Head of the Development Center at Samsung SDS, said, “By obtaining the highest grade SP Certification, our software process quality capability level has been recognized, further enhancing customer trust. Based on the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP) and software process quality capabilities, we will strive to provide the best IT service quality to increase our customers’ business value.”
