Busan City and Daesun Brewery will unveil the ‘Daesun Gold Special Edition’ in early April to coincide with the on-site inspection by the International Bureau of Expositions, expressing their hopes for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The newly produced ‘Daesun Gold Special Edition’ is a non-sale item and will be donated for use in major domestic and international events related to the 2030 Busan World Expo, as well as key negotiation activities targeting member countries (171 countries) of the International Bureau of Expositions.
In particular, considering that hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo is a core national agenda that will accelerate South Korea’s future development, the ‘Daesun Gold Special Edition’ is made from premium green maesil (Korean plums) harvested in Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, which have been carefully naturally aged for 30 years, boasting a smooth taste and deep aroma.
It not only embodies 30 years of perseverance and Daesun Brewery’s 93 years of accumulated brewing technology, but also features no artificial coloring or flavoring, allowing for a pure and clean enjoyment.
Additionally, this special edition, newly designed in both bottle and packaging to embody the wish for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo, is expected to increase in value over time. The top of the bottle is engraved in English with the Expo emblem and the words “2030 BUSAN EXPO,” adding significance to its production.
Currently, all of Busan is bustling with various welcoming events and citizen participation activities organized by the government, the city, and 16 districts and counties in preparation for the on-site inspection by the International Bureau of Expositions.
Daesun Brewery has been planning and preparing the ‘Daesun Gold Special Edition’ since last year to contribute as a leading local company in support of these efforts.
Busan City and Daesun Brewery expect that the ‘Daesun Gold (GOLD) Special Edition,’ specially manufactured with hopes for the successful hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo that will accelerate the future development of South Korea and Busan, will better convey the enthusiasm for the 2030 Busan World Expo to distinguished guests.
Jo Woo-hyun, CEO of Daesun Brewery, said, “As a representative local company of Busan, it is meaningful that we can contribute to promoting the 2030 Busan World Expo using the resources our company possesses,” and promised, “We will continue steady promotional activities during the remaining period to ensure the successful hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo, a festival for the world and a new growth engine for Busan.”
Mayor Park Hyung-jun expressed, “I deeply appreciate Daesun Brewery, a leading liquor company, for their great interest and continuous participation in the hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo,” and added, “The comprehensive promotional participation and use of available channels by companies provide great support.”
He declared his determination, saying, “We will clearly explain Busan’s charm and future growth value to the International Bureau of Expositions on-site inspection team visiting in early April, and offer a deep impression and emotion through storytelling about Busan, South Korea, which has overcome the pains of war and achieved rapid high growth.”
Busan City and Daesun Brewery signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last May to promote the hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo and build a broad civic consensus. They have been carrying out various promotional activities, such as public campaigns that use tubes and parasols targeting domestic and international tourists linked to major summer tourist spots (Haeundae Beach) to promote the Expo, and engraving the 2030 Expo logo on the main label of their flagship product ‘Daesun’ for public interest purposes.
