A policy proposal contest to rebuild the city through the power of citizens will be held in Ulsan.
The Ulsan Metropolitan City announced that it is accepting proposals for the 2023 Ulsan Regional Problem-Solving Platform until the 16th, aiming to identify and solve local issues together with citizens, local governments, public institutions, private organizations, and agencies.
Anyone who is a Ulsan citizen or an institution, organization, or business located in Ulsan can participate in this contest. To participate, check the post uploaded in the ‘Ulsan News’ section on the Ulsan city website, fill out the form accordingly, and submit it via email.
The contest themes include local branding to create a unique regional image, region-specific safety projects, revitalization of youth employment, improvement of living conditions, and prevention of population outflow, among various issues in Ulsan. Participants will receive mobile gift coupons.
Among the proposed projects, about 10 execution agendas will be selected in May through consulting and review by the executive committee.
An official from Ulsan city said, “The significance of the Regional Problem-Solving Platform project lies in encouraging more citizen participation and utilizing the resources of institutions, companies, and organizations to solve local problems,” adding, “We hope for active participation to achieve practical problem-solving.”
The Ulsan Regional Problem-Solving Platform, which started in 2021, promoted nine execution agendas last year, including a sharing event to improve awareness of disabilities in the region, production of diffusers by recycling used ice packs, and upcycling public design furniture using waste wood.
