A passenger car attempting to board a ship at a pier in Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, fell into the sea, resulting in the deaths of three family members.
On the afternoon of the 18th, a passenger car fell into the sea at a harbor in Yaksan-myeon, Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, and the coast guard is salvaging it.

According to the Wando Coast Guard on the 19th, a report was received around 4:19 PM the previous day that a passenger car had fallen into the sea at Dangmok Port pier in Yaksan-myeon, Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do.
The coast guard, responding to the report, salvaged an SM3 vehicle at the accident site. The couple in their 70s and a woman in her 20s who were in the vehicle were found in cardiac arrest and rescued after 40 minutes, then transported to the hospital, but ultimately died. They were a grandparent and granddaughter, and the driver was identified as the man in his 70s.
According to CCTV footage, the vehicle fell into the sea while reversing onto the Cheolbudo ferry at Dangmok Port to go to Geumil Island Road in Wando.
The coast guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on CCTV footage and witness statements.
