The support targets are approximately 10,000 tenant small business owners operating businesses in Seo-gu as of the announcement date (February 22, 2023) with annual sales under 200 million KRW (including VAT) in 2022.

However, entertainment and nightlife industries such as bars, gambling and adult product stores, taxi operators, pharmacies, herbal medicine shops, and professional fields such as legal, accounting, and tax services are excluded from support.

Seo-gu also classified bathhouse, lodging, and flower cultivation industries, which bear relatively high heating costs, as priority affected industries and decided to provide 300,000 KRW in heating cost support to those small business owners.

The application period is from the 27th of this month to April 26, and applicants can submit the application form, personal information consent form, VAT tax base certificate, business registration certificate, commercial lease contract, and a copy of their bankbook via email to the Seo-gu Office Economic Division or visit the Seo-gu Office Economic Division, Small Business Management Support Center, or the Dong Administrative Welfare Center in person.

Kim Yi-gang, Seo-gu District Mayor, said, “With public utility fees rising recently, we hope this support will provide some relief to small business owners facing increasing economic difficulties. We will open the Small Business Management Support Center early next month and implement various support policies to increase small business sales and revitalize the local economy.”
