Goheung-gun to Host Nighttime Drone Show Performances at Nokdong Port Starting May

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) plans to illuminate the night sky of Nokdong Port with drone lights, using the night view of Sorok Bridge as a backdrop, targeting tourists and local residents to enhance the status of Goheung as a drone-centered city and achieve the era of 10 million tourists in Goheung.

According to the county, the Nokdong Port drone show will begin in May and run for seven months, starting with busking performances every Saturday evening around Nokdong Port, followed by a 10-minute drone swarm show featuring 500 drones once at 9 PM, the county announced on the 21st.

In particular, the drone show will regularly take place every Saturday night with various themes by season and commemorative days, including content related to Goheung, harmonizing with the night scenery of Nokdong Port.

This large-scale drone swarm show is a pledge fulfilled promised to the residents during the 8th civilian administration and is expected to be the largest drone show ever introduced in Goheung, raising expectations among the residents.

Governor Gong Young-min said, “This Nokdong Port drone show coincides with the Suncheonman International Garden Expo period, providing tourists with a unique nighttime attraction, along with fresh seafood and abundant food around the Nokdong Eel Street, which is expected to create a ripple effect such as revitalizing Goheung tourism and the local commercial economy.”

Meanwhile, Goheung-gun also plans to hold the 1st Drone & UAM Expo in September around the Goheung Aviation Center, firmly establishing the image of ‘Space Aviation Central City Goheung’ through UAM flight demonstrations and more.
