World No. 1 male golfer Jon Rahm (29, Spain) is on the verge of surpassing $10 million in cumulative prize money this year alone, having won three times so far.

On the 20th, Rahm claimed the top spot with a final total of 17-under-par 267 at the Genesis Invitational, a PGA Tour event held at the Riviera Country Club (par 71) in Pacific Palisades, California, USA. The total prize money for this tournament was $20 million (approximately 25.9 billion KRW), and Rahm's winner's prize was $3.6 million (approximately 4.7 billion KRW).

Including the Genesis Invitational, Rahm has participated in five of the seven PGA Tour events held this year. Among these, he previously won the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the American Express last month, marking his third victory. The winner's prize for the Sentry Tournament of Champions was $2.7 million (approximately 3.5 billion KRW), and for the American Express, it was $1.44 million (approximately 1.87 billion KRW). Additionally, he finished third with a final total of 14-under-par 270 at the WM Phoenix Open, which ended on the 13th, earning $1.38 million (approximately 1.79 billion KRW). His total earnings this year amount to $9.12 million (approximately 11.8 billion KRW).


Rahm, who debuted on the PGA Tour in 2016, has won 10 times in total on the tour, but this is his first time winning three times in a single year. He is also on a roll this season on the DP World Tour, having won twice in October and November last year. He reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the men's golf weekly world rankings announced the day before, with a ranking points average of 9.5152, rising two places from third last week. This is Rahm's first time back at No. 1 in men's golf in 11 months since March last year.
