[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The prosecution, investigating allegations of preferential employment at Korea Integrated Logistics, a CJ Group affiliate, launched a forced investigation on the 15th targeting Lee Hak-young, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea.
The Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Young-chul) sent prosecutors and investigators to Lee's residence and local office to secure materials.
The prosecution believes that Mr. A, former chief secretary to ex-Gunpo Mayor Han Dae-hee, and Mr. B, an aide to Lee, improperly exerted influence to have a specific person employed at Korea Integrated Logistics. It is also reported that there is evidence Lee himself was involved in this process. Lee's constituency is Gunpo City, Gyeonggi Province, where Korea Integrated Logistics is located.
