Goheung Supports Stable Settlement of 'Youth Business Successors'

Up to 20 Million KRW Support for Youth Business Succession

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (County Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 13th that it is recruiting candidates for the ‘Youth Support Project for Business Succession’ to help young people who will continue their (grand)parents’ family businesses settle in the region and to promote the influx of young population.

The ‘Youth Support Project for Business Succession’ is a project that contributes to creating local jobs by alleviating young people’s anxiety about business succession and promoting the influx of young population by supporting realistic costs necessary for business succession in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, livestock, and small businesses based on the stable family business foundation of (grand)parents.

Eligibility requirements are youth aged between 19 and 49 as of the application date, whose registered address is in Goheung-gun, and whose (grand)parents are engaged in agriculture, fisheries, livestock, or small businesses, or applicants themselves who have experience in agriculture, fisheries, livestock, or small businesses within 5 years of succession.

The total project budget this time is 200 million KRW, and the county will discover about 10 young people for business succession and support up to 20 million KRW per person for costs needed to renovate agricultural, fisheries, and livestock infrastructure of the (grand)parent generation that has been succeeded, improve business facilities, and for management and promotion.

Youth wishing to apply for the project should visit the town or township office (General Affairs Team) in the project area by February 28 and submit the application form, business plan, and other required documents.

A county official said, “To ensure the stable settlement and foundation of young people, we will do our best to proactively resolve young people’s difficulties through region-tailored job creation such as ▲Youth Employment and Start-up Support ▲Follow-up Support Programs for Youth Start-ups ▲Youth Challenge Project Support ▲Youth CEO Marketing Activation Support ▲Support for Youth Employment, Start-ups, and Hiring Companies, and make Goheung a ‘young Goheung where youth return.’”

Meanwhile, after the first document screening and the second on-site inspection of business locations, the final project candidates will be selected as youth for business succession in March through a screening committee composed of experts in each field, aiming to add vitality to the region by promoting the influx of young population.
