Coupang announced on the 13th that it has purchased over 200 tons of seasonal agricultural products such as strawberries, apples, and tomatoes that missed the peak holiday sales period. This is the second time since purchasing about 100 tons of apples last Chuseok, with the purchase volume doubling.
To help revitalize the consumption of seasonal agricultural products, which had a shorter sales period due to the earlier holiday this year, Coupang is purchasing and selling agricultural products from over 1,000 farms nationwide.
Coupang will run a farm support campaign until the 19th. Seasonal agricultural products harvested from a total of 11 production areas, including strawberries, apples, tomatoes, grapes, and pears, can be purchased on Rocket Fresh at discounts of up to 52%. Among the participating suppliers in this campaign, Gimje strawberries and Sangju Shine Muscat grapes will be delivered directly from the production sites to maintain high freshness.
A Coupang representative said, “In a situation where agricultural products grown with hard work have not been sold smoothly, we expect this win-win promotional event to help local farms.” They added, “We will continue to support local farms to contribute to regional economic development and strive to provide customers with high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices.”
