[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Daewoo E&C announced on the 13th that it will be the first in the industry to launch promotional activities using 'character goods.' The products to be produced are one type of 'Jung Dae-woo Metal Keyring' and one type of 'Jung Dae-woo Mini Doll,' both utilizing Daewoo E&C's own character 'Manager Jung Dae-woo.' These will be distributed to consumers through various events on the 'Jung Dae-woo is Coming' YouTube channel and Instagram.
Manager Jung Dae-woo is a character representing an ordinary office worker in his 30s working at Daewoo E&C. He has a positive personality, enjoys imaginative ideas, challenges the impossible, and finds happiness in the process of realizing those challenges.
Since introducing the Jung Dae-woo character through corporate PR advertisements in 2011, Daewoo E&C has consistently carried out various character marketing activities. In 2018, it became the first in the industry to develop KakaoTalk emoticons using the character, distributing them to employees and the general public. In 2020, the company launched the 'Jung Dae-woo is Coming' YouTube channel and has been showcasing its charm through various promotional activities. Notably, last year, Daewoo E&C opened the character's first 'birthday cafe' concept pop-up store in Seongsu-dong, a hot place for the MZ generation, attracting significant consumer interest.
A Daewoo E&C representative said, "Jung Dae-woo's unique charm and various activities have recently increased his fan base, leading to many inquiries about the release of Jung Dae-woo goods." He added, "Starting with the production of these goods, we plan to carry out various online and offline PR activities targeting the MZ generation, including goods production projects linked to Daewoo E&C's university student ambassador activities."
