Six Earthquakes of Magnitude 2.0 or Higher Occurred This Year

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.1 occurred in the waters near Heuksando, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.


According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 14th, the earthquake occurred at 5:56 a.m. in the West Sea, 56 km northwest of Heuksando, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, with a depth of 11 km.


The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "No damage is expected from this earthquake."


Including this earthquake, six earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.0 or higher have occurred on the Korean Peninsula this year.
