Newin (CEO Han Gi-nam), which provides the domestic corporate education edutech solution 'Touchclass' and the integrated e-learning solution 'Newcampus,' announced that it has obtained the 'Information Security and Personal Information Protection Management System (ISMS-P)' certification.
Touchclass is a corporate education SaaS (Software as a Service) solution that enables fast and easy sharing of internal corporate training materials and information. It is used for internal training by leading domestic companies such as Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and Korea Toyota.
Han Gi-nam, CEO of Newin, stated, "As concerns over personal information leakage continue to grow, and demands for personal information protection increase, we are striving to establish response capabilities that meet the highest domestic standards. Moving forward, we plan to continuously enhance our information security and personal information protection management system to provide safer SaaS-based solutions."
The ISMS-P certification is a system that verifies that a series of measures and activities for information security and personal information protection comply with certification standards. It is certified by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) according to the joint notification standards of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission. The detailed certification criteria are divided into three areas with a total of 102 items: △ Establishment and operation of management system (16 items) △ Protection measure requirements (64 items) △ Personal information processing stage requirements (22 items).
Through this certification, Newin has been evaluated as having verified the safety of its top-level security management system applied to its business areas: △ Corporate SaaS-based LMS solution 'Touchclass' △ Integrated e-learning solution 'Newcampus,' protecting against converged and advanced personal information leakage and infringement threats.
In particular, by securing the internationally recognized ISO/IEC 27001 certification obtained last September along with the ISMS-P, the most prestigious domestic information security management certification system, Newin has become the first in the e-learning solution industry to acquire certifications in both areas.
Kim Jin-su, Newin’s CISO (Chief Information Security Officer), who led the certification process, said, "Obtaining the ISMS-P certification not only proves the security stability of the Touchclass and Newcampus services provided by Newin but also reflects our commitment to managing customer information more carefully. Especially since we are not obligated to obtain ISMS-P, we recognized the importance of personal information protection and sought to further strengthen our information security and personal information protection management levels through a voluntary certification audit system."
Newin plans to continuously maintain the highest level of information security management system and enhance customer trust. To this end, it will pursue various security-related initiatives such as acquiring 'CSAP (Cloud Service Security Certification)' and certifications including 'ISO27017 (Cloud Service Information Security Management System),' 'ISO27018 (Cloud Service Personal Information Protection Management System),' and 'ISO27701 (Personal Information Protection Management System)' in the future.
