Hope Special City Pohang Created with Citizens, 'Citizen Policy Group' Idea Final Presentation Held

Teams participating in the '2022 Citizen Policy Group Idea Final Presentation' held on the 19th are taking a commemorative photo.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 19th, Pohang City held the '2022 Citizen Policy Group Idea Final Presentation' at the city hall's main conference room.

At the presentation, among the 15 teams recruited last August, 6 teams that passed the first screening in November gave their final presentations on research results conducted over four months. The judging panel consisted of five external experts, including advisory members of the Pohang City Policy Advisory Group and professors from Pohang University, considering the research topics.

This year's Citizen Policy Group presented ideas in various fields such as ▲Warm Food Solidarity Pohang Village Kitchen ▲Barrier-Free Travel Guide App Development ▲Happy Child Education Research Group ▲Welcome Kit for New Youth Residents to Settle the Young Population.

As a result of the final evaluation, the Parang Team, which presented 'Creating a Pohang Where Youth Gather: Welcome Kit for New Youth Residents,' won the gold prize; the Ieumteo Team, which presented 'Warm Food Solidarity, Pohang Village Kitchen,' won the silver prize; and the Rose Bouquet Team, which presented 'Barrier-Free Travel Guide App Enjoyed by Pohang Citizens,' won the bronze prize.

Policy Planning Officer Seongho Bae said, "The creative ideas closely related to citizens' daily lives are the driving force for Pohang City's development," and added, "Pohang City will also strive to ensure that the proposed ideas lead to policies that can enrich people's lives."

The Citizen Policy Group is a policy research group that discovers citizen-experienced policies by forming teams of 3 to 5 Pohang citizens from various occupations and age groups, and it is operated through an open recruitment every year.
