[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The National Police Agency announced on the 9th that it held the 11th Human Rights Film Festival at CGV Myeongdong in Seoul.

At this festival, the short film "One November," produced by the National Police Agency, and one invited film that won awards at domestic and international human rights film festivals were screened. The National Police Agency explained that "One November" was produced based on a scenario selected as the best work through a prior theme contest and review.

The National Police Agency Human Rights Film Festival has been held annually since its first event in 2012, inviting films directly produced by police officers or citizens, which are then screened after expert review. Since 2019, scenarios selected through a theme contest have been commissioned to professional film production companies for filming, and the festival is held in cinemas around December 10, the World Human Rights Day.

At the event, Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, said in his welcoming speech, "This is a time when the existence and role of the police to fully protect the value of human rights are even more important," adding, "Through this Human Rights Film Festival, we will reflect on the meaning of human rights and devote all our efforts to creating a safe community trusted by the public by prioritizing human rights as the highest value."
