[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 22nd that it has selected three social ventures to nurture and invest in through the 'Green Impact Project.'

The Green Impact Project is Yuhan-Kimberly's social contribution model that discovers and nurtures social ventures that can contribute to solving social and environmental issues. It collaborates with MYSC and the nonprofit organization PPL.

Since April this year, Yuhan-Kimberly has been scouting companies at the Seed or Pre-A stage that are pursuing eco-friendly material solutions and earth environment improvement and restoration solutions through a public contest.

The social ventures selected for investment are three companies specialized in the environment and climate fields: 'SixtyHertz,' 'Artwa,' and 'CosmosLab.' SixtyHertz provides a virtual power plant solution that resolves and controls the supply-demand imbalance of renewable energy power supplied from solar and wind power plants based on AI prediction technology.

Artwa possesses a solution that continuously monitors water quality information using remotely operated amphibious robots, predicts the occurrence of algal blooms and pollution possibilities, and notifies through the web in case of pollution occurrence.

The battery-specialized startup 'CosmosLab' develops and supplies eco-friendly batteries that use water as an electrolyte instead of special liquids.

These companies will receive investments from the Green Impact Fund. Opportunities for employee mentoring related to Yuhan-Kimberly's corporate culture and ESG will also be provided. Benefits such as resource linkage and impact monitoring through fund managers will be given. If the social ventures demonstrate the expected social impact and grow healthily, the investment returns from the fund will be reinvested as investment resources for the Green Impact Project.

A Yuhan-Kimberly official said, “We hope that the Yuhan-Kimberly Green Impact Project will promote multilateral solidarity and serve as a catalyst for healthy social and environmental change.”
