[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Hana Bank is utilizing closed branches to provide spaces where not only banking services are available but also local residents can gather and communicate.

Hana Bank announced on the 18th that it opened the Sangroksu Branch in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, which was closed in December last year, as the 'Hana Toktok Lounge.'

Through this, the bank minimizes inconvenience for local customers who lost their transaction branch and provides a space where local residents can spend comfortable time together.

The Hana Toktok Lounge is equipped with a comprehensive financial machine (STM) and an automated teller machine (ATM), and for financially marginalized groups unfamiliar with the machines, staff from nearby branches visit once a week to provide direct financial consultation services.

Usually, customers handle simple banking tasks themselves at the self-banking corner equipped with STM and ATM that support video consultations, while complex tasks are handled on the days when bank staff visit.

Additionally, a 'Community Lounge' for local residents is provided as a resting space. The interior is designed to give the feeling of resting in a forest.

A Hana Bank official stated, "We have repurposed the space of a closed branch into a place where local residents can handle banking tasks while socializing and relaxing together," adding, "We will continue to provide innovative financial services that maximize customer satisfaction."
