[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] As of 6 p.m. on the 6th, the tentative tally of casualties caused by Typhoon Hinnamnor, the 11th typhoon, stands at 3 dead, 8 missing, and 1 injured.


According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) on the 6th, 2 people died and 7 went missing in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, where heavy rain poured. One person died in Gyeongju, and one person went missing in Ulsan.


The casualties on this day mainly occurred in Pohang. In an apartment in Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang, a 66-year-old woman who went to move her car in the underground parking lot went missing and was found dead after 6 hours. Also, another 70-year-old woman in Pohang was swept away by a rapid current while evacuating with her family and eventually died. In Induk-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang, 7 residents who went to retrieve their cars from the apartment's underground parking lot are missing and are being searched for.


In Gyeongju, one person in their 80s died after being buried by soil that flooded into their house. In Ulsan, around 1 a.m. on the same day, a 25-year-old man went missing after falling into a stream under Namcheon Bridge in Ulju-gun. Additionally, in Siheung, Gyeonggi, one person was injured by a falling signboard.


Facility damage caused by this typhoon includes 190 private properties such as flooded houses, 336 public facilities including roads and bridges, and 3,815 hectares of crop damage. In Gyeongbuk and other areas, 72 houses were flooded and 14 fishing boats were damaged. There were also damages including 45 cases of roads and bridges, 15 cases of slope collapse, 6 cases of river damage, 15 landslides, and 238 other cases.


There were a total of 199 power outages affecting 89,180 households. The restoration rate is currently 88.5%. There are 3 disaster victims in 2 households in Seoul due to house damage, and the number of temporary evacuees nationwide is 4,533 people in 3,383 households. The largest number of temporary evacuees is in Gyeongnam with 2,380 people.


As of 3 p.m., Typhoon Hinnamnor is moving northeast about 280 km northeast of Ulleungdo. All typhoon warnings except for the outer seas of the central East Sea have been lifted.
