[Asia Economy Reporter Seo Mideum] Jacheong's Yeokhaengja continues to hold the top spot overall, with little movement among the top-ranked books, while newly entered titles have caught attention. In the first half of the year, many political and social books that sparked issues upon publication were released, and this trend continues into the second half. This week, Im Eunjeong's Gyesok Gabogessseubnida debuted at 4th place overall upon release. Looking at the purchase distribution, readers in their 50s made up 37.1%, representing the main readership, and male readers showed somewhat higher interest.
When a new comic series is published, sales tend to be concentrated due to devoted readers. The new series of Na Honjaman Level Up ranked 11th overall upon release. The sudden death of Jang Seongrak, the artist responsible for the webtoon’s illustrations, added to the fans’ sorrow, increasing interest in the work.
Books recommended by YouTubers also attracted significant reader interest and boosted sales. Popular YouTuber Milanonna announced a hiatus, leaving her subscriber base disappointed. The last recommended book, Peter Bieri’s Sal-ui Gyeok, drew concentrated attention and ranked 50th overall.
