"Lotte Department Store Starts Pre-Orders for Practical Livestock and MZ Popular Wines for Chuseok Gifts"

Models at Lotte Department Store are promoting pre-orders for Chuseok gift sets.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Department Store announced on the 26th that it will conduct a pre-order sale of 2022 Chuseok gift sets at all Lotte Department Store locations from the 1st to the 18th of next month.

Lotte Department Store expects an increase in customers purchasing gift sets for the first holiday since the endemic (periodic outbreak of infectious diseases). Especially during the pre-order sale, customers can purchase at discounted prices, which helps alleviate the burden caused by recent price increases. Last year's Chuseok gift set pre-order sales increased by more than 20% compared to the previous year.

This pre-order sale will feature a total of about 170 items. It includes around 60 fresh food items such as livestock, fruits, and seafood, about 40 health food items, 20 types of alcoholic beverages, and about 50 processed products. The main product discount rates are 10-15% for livestock, 20% for seafood, 10-55% for fruits, 10-20% for wine, and 30-50% for health products.

Representative Korean beef products include the 'Hanwoo Premium Loin Gift (GIFT),' which offers various cuts of 1++ grade Hanwoo for grilling and steak, and the 'Royal Hanwoo Loin GIFT,' consisting of sirloin, striploin, and flap meat. Both are sold at a 15% discount. Recently, with the popularity of 'cost-effective' products, practical items priced in the low 100,000 KRW range such as 'Australian Wagyu Jeongseong GIFT' and 'Hanwoo Unyang-style Bulgogi GIFT' have also been prepared. As customers increasingly seek various steak meat products, the 'Special Hanwoo Steak Mix' product is also introduced.

Low-carbon certified fruit sets such as the 'Orga Happiness Shine Muscat 3-type GIFT' and 'Orga Happiness Apple & Pear Mix GIFT' can be purchased at about a 30% discount. Seafood products like 'Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Dried Yellow Croaker GIFT Gam (坎)' and 'Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Dried Yellow Croaker GIFT Cheon (川)' are sold at a 20% discount. Additionally, health food gift sets, which have seen increased sales due to growing interest in immunity, are offered at up to 50% off.

Wine gift sets, which have recently gained popularity among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), have also been planned in various ways. The 'Penfolds Bin GIFT,' consisting of two representative cost-effective wines from Penfolds' Bin series, and the 'Grant Burge GIFT,' a wine set launched by an Australian boutique winery, are sold at a 10% discount. Wine sets under 100,000 KRW such as 'France M?doc GIFT' and 'Concha y Toro GIFT' are also available.

Meanwhile, Lotte ON will also hold a pre-event for department store Chuseok gift sets from August 5th to 18th. During the event period, about 10,000 Chuseok gift sets, including popular items such as Hanwoo and fruits as well as health functional foods, will be prepared. Customers can enjoy up to 9% discount coupons and up to 5% instant card discounts.

Jo Yong-wook, head of the Fresh Food Division at Lotte Department Store, said, "Since this is the first holiday after reopening, many customers are expected to purchase Chuseok gifts to take home to their hometowns," adding, "Customers who want to prepare holiday gifts in advance can gain many benefits through the pre-order sale, and we have prepared various shopping experiences accordingly."
