[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The Gunpo Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that they have urgently arrested a woman in her 30s, identified as A, on charges of parricide after she killed her parents and mutilated their bodies.

A is accused of stabbing her parents with a weapon for unknown reasons at an apartment in Sanbon-dong, Gunpo, around 1:30 a.m. on the same day. She is also suspected of fleeing after mutilating the bodies.

The police began tracking her after receiving a report from A's younger sibling, who returned home late, and apprehended A at a nearby convenience store around 3 a.m., about an hour and 30 minutes after the crime. It is known that A had been suffering from depression.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after further verifying the exact circumstances and motive of the crime with A.
