원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Thursday the 21st, the whole country will be mostly cloudy with rain expected until the morning in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungnam region, Jeolla region, and Gyeongnam region.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated that due to a low-pressure system accompanying a stationary front, rain will fall until the morning in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungnam region, Jeolla region, Gyeongnam region, and Jeju Island mountainous areas, and until night in Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungbuk, and Gyeongbuk regions. Expected precipitation amounts are 5 to 40mm. The Gangwon Yeongdong area will see about 20 to 60mm of rain until early morning tomorrow.
After the rain stops, temperatures will rise again and hot weather will continue. With rain falling overnight increasing humidity, the highest perceived temperature in the Jeonnam region and Gyeongnam region will rise to around 33 degrees Celsius, and other areas will experience a highest perceived temperature of around 31 degrees Celsius.
The highest daytime temperatures in major areas on this day are Daegu and Jeju at 31 degrees, Seoul, Suwon, Ulsan, and Yeosu at 30 degrees, and Incheon, Jeonju, and Daejeon at 29 degrees.
On the 22nd, showers will fall in most parts of the country from morning until late afternoon. From the 23rd, rain will return nationwide due to a low-pressure system accompanying the stationary front. Heavy rain is expected from the night of the 23rd in the west and southern coast, and from the afternoon of the 24th in the Gangwon Yeongdong region.
A strong wind advisory is in effect for the mountainous areas of Jeju, with winds blowing strongly at 8 to 16 meters per second and gusts exceeding 20 meters per second until the afternoon. A high wave advisory is also in effect for the southern seas of Jeju. Strong winds around 15 meters per second are blowing along the Jeolla coastal area and the southern coast of Gyeongnam, so caution is advised for facility management. Very strong winds and high waves are expected in the offshore areas of the West Sea, Jeju Sea, South Sea, and southern offshore areas of the East Sea.
