KMI Korea Medical Institute Announces Research Support Project Call... Total Funding of 300 Million KRW 원본보기 아이콘


[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] KMI Korea Medical Institute announced on the 1st that it is publicly recruiting research institutions to participate in the '2022 KMI Research Support Project' until the 22nd of this month.


Since 2008, KMI has been supporting research in preventive medicine (such as health checkups), clinical medicine, and basic medical sciences annually to contribute to the advancement of domestic medicine and the improvement of public health. This year's research support project plans to select a total of 15 tasks and provide 20 million KRW per research institution (totaling 300 million KRW) for research execution.


Eligibility includes ▲national and public research institutions ▲research institutions of corporations established under the Civil Act or other laws ▲research institutions of universities as defined in Article 2 of the Higher Education Act ▲other institutions related to research and development in the medical field. Joint research with KMI-affiliated specialists or researchers is encouraged for the above institutions. Additionally, research utilizing KMI research data is only eligible if KMI researchers are included in the research team.


Research institutions will be finally selected after the KMI Research Committee reviews the research and development plans, and the selection results will be communicated to the research institutions by August.


Established in 1985 as a health screening institution, KMI currently operates health screening centers in seven locations nationwide: three in Seoul (Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, Gangnam) and four in provincial areas (Suwon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju). It also conducts various social contribution projects aimed at early disease detection, prevention, and promotion of public health.
