[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] SK Square held a talk concert on the 28th at its headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul. The company explained, "The event was planned to strengthen board-centered management by facilitating open communication between outside directors and employees." Attending the event were SK Square's outside directors Kang Ho-in, Park Seung-gu, Lee Sung-woo, and Ki Eun-sun, along with company executives and staff.

Director Park Seung-gu shared various perspectives on investment with the employees under the theme "Some Reflections on Investment." Drawing on his extensive experience in the investment industry, including serving as the head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Korea and as Credit Suisse Seoul branch manager where he participated in the acquisition of SK Hynix, he emphasized the importance of portfolio investment and risk management.

Director Park stated, "As an investment specialist company, SK Square must build a solid brand," and stressed, "When employees meet various stakeholders, it is important to clearly communicate what kind of investments SK Square aims for to attract good investment opportunities." He also shared his investment philosophy, saying, "The more you experience investing, the closer it becomes to impossible to predict market risks, so humility is always necessary when making investment decisions," and added, "I believe that if investments are managed well in terms of risk, even a single small investment can yield great results."

Director Lee Sung-woo also performed a piano piece in line with the concept of the talk concert.

The outside directors also spent time the day before the talk concert discussing future growth strategies with employees of T Map Mobility, one of SK Square’s subsidiaries. They thoroughly analyzed the future mobility industry, including Urban Air Mobility (UAM), and reaffirmed their commitment to jointly prepare for the business.

SK Square plans to regularize events that allow free communication between outside directors and employees. The company aims to continuously advance its governance system by strengthening board-centered management activities that earn trust from internal and external stakeholders.

Recently, SK Square received the highest grade ‘AA’ in the first half of the year’s domestic corporate ESG performance evaluation announced by Sustainvest, an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) evaluation and analysis agency. Only three large companies, including SK Square, received the highest grade.

SK Square’s board subcommittees consist of five groups: Outside Director Candidate Recommendation Committee, Audit Committee, Personnel and Compensation Committee, Governance Committee, and ESG Committee. The structure places four outside directors, two inside directors, and one other non-executive director in each subcommittee based on expertise and independence.

SK Square stated, "The event was planned to strengthen board-centered management by facilitating open communication between outside directors and employees," and added, "We will continue to create opportunities for the board and employees to come together and discuss the company’s development."
