Now in its second year, this hackathon is an event organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor for K-Digital Training trainees to demonstrate the digital new technology job competencies they have accumulated.
The Moon Ikjeom team challenged the hackathon with a marketable model applicable in companies, based on fintech new technologies such as data analysis, machine learning model training, and deep learning model-based algorithmic trading, which they learned over about six months in the ‘Fintech Digital Financial Scientist Course’ at the Education Center. Their project, titled “Simplified Corporate Credit Analysis Report Using XAI,” addressed the limitations of existing credit evaluation AI models’ Black Box areas by enhancing explainability with XAI and provided a customized automated simplified corporate credit evaluation report service.
This award is a meaningful achievement earned by developing the final project conducted during the fintech course training period and continuing to dedicate themselves to the hackathon project even after completion, competing against a total of 150 teams and 706 young participants.
Team leader Park Heejin said, “Although we faced difficulties from obtaining data while working on a project in an unfamiliar field within finance, I am proud that we overcame these challenges with great team members and ultimately produced a successful project.” Other team members shared, “People with different academic backgrounds gathered and shared domain-related knowledge, which enabled the project to proceed.” “From project planning and data collection to dealing with imbalanced data issues and unfamiliar XAI models, every step was a new challenge, but it was a meaningful experience to overcome them with capable team members. It was great to improve on the shortcomings of the final project in the training course through the hackathon,” they said.
The Asia Economy Education Center, which produced the award-winning team, has received great responses since 2020 by directly reflecting corporate demands and trending digital core technologies in its education and training. It has been operating the K-Digital Training (digital new technology education and training) organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor for three years, covering big data, fintech, artificial intelligence, and more, and has been recognized as an excellent institution for leading 4th industrial revolution training, producing practical and differentiated project outcomes.
Currently, trainees for the second half of 2022 training courses are being recruited, and detailed information can be found on the Asia Economy Education Center website.
