[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] On the 23rd, Kim Sung-joo, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized President Yoon Suk-yeol, saying, "I never expected a former prosecutor who spent his life investigating others and putting them in prison to do good politics, but at the beginning of his administration, shouldn't he at least try a little harder?"

In a post on social media (SNS) that day, Rep. Kim said, "Warnings of an economic crisis are coming one after another, with fuel prices soaring, inflation continuing, and the exchange rate rising, but there is no sign of the ruling party and government’s ability to respond to the crisis."

Rep. Kim pointed out, "The Yoon Suk-yeol government is obsessed only with strengthening power, and the People Power Party is solely focused on political strife. The Minister of Justice trampled on the independence of the prosecution by wielding the personnel knife directly without appointing a Prosecutor General, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety created a separate organization to control the police, overturning the personnel plan of the National Police Agency, an unprecedented situation."

He continued, "While verbally denying political retaliation, President Yoon personally criticized the Moon Jae-in administration’s energy transition policy as 'foolish,' and the People Power Party suddenly stirred up the 'defection to North Korea commotion.' Because they cannot escape from constant political retaliation and political instincts, the negative evaluation of the president’s job performance just one month after inauguration is higher than the positive one," he criticized.

Rep. Kim also directly attacked, "They falsely blamed Korea Electric Power Corporation’s deficit on the suspension of nuclear power plant operations. While the Yoon Suk-yeol government is doing 'pointless acts,' only the suffering of the people will increase."
