[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Eom Dong-hwan, the newly appointed Administrator of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), announced that he will improve the practices and systems that require employees who actively perform their duties to bear excessive responsibility.

At the inauguration ceremony on the 23rd, Administrator Eom proposed improvements to the working methods and organizational culture.

He said, "Due to the nature of DAPA's work, individuals bear significant responsibility and sometimes must undergo investigations, inquiries, and audits. I will take the lead so that you can work confidently and with conviction."

Administrator Eom also urged, "Let us be reborn as DAPA leading Defense Innovation 4.0. Let us find ways to utilize our unique strengths to more quickly and effectively operationalize new technologies such as AI (Artificial Intelligence), unmanned and autonomous driving."

He pointed out, "Even at this moment, the Kim Jong-un regime in North Korea is attempting missile launches and nuclear tests, so the security situation on the Korean Peninsula remains precarious. Peace without a strong defense is an illusion."

Emphasizing that "DAPA is the vanguard and the last bastion of national defense," Administrator Eom expressed his feelings, saying, "I am well aware that our mission is extremely important, so the responsibility weighs heavily on my shoulders."
