[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 23rd that it will conduct a six-month networking program called 'CSR-30' from June to November in collaboration with the Seoul Social Welfare Council to promote social contribution activities of public and private companies. The program, consisting of six sessions, is organized by type and will be conducted both online and offline.

This program provides a communication channel for forming networks among corporate social contribution officers, receiving feedback on difficulties in operating corporate social contribution activities, and seeking improvement measures. Based on this, it aims to strengthen partnerships between companies and explore ways to support and expand participation in corporate social contribution activities.

The first program in June will feature a presentation of POSCO ONM's 'Outstanding Corporate Citizenship (ESG) Practices' case. Future presentations are scheduled from Olympus Korea's 'Going On Campaign,' Lock&Lock, Hyundai Construction, and others. Additionally, companies that request to present their own cases upon application will be given opportunities to share diverse corporate cases.

Companies wishing to participate can apply at any time during the program period through the notice section on the Seoul Social Welfare Council website. For inquiries about the program, contact the Social Contribution Center of the Seoul Social Welfare Council.

Kim Hyun-hoon, Chairman of the Seoul Social Welfare Council, said, “As the importance of ESG management is emphasized and diversification of corporate social contribution is required, the Social Contribution Center of the Seoul Social Welfare Council aims to work together to enable companies to actively engage in social contribution activities. Through the network meetings of social contribution officers, the Seoul Social Welfare Council will strive to build positive relationships with various stakeholders and help improve corporate social contribution outcomes.”

Ahn Hyun-min, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Regional Care Welfare Division, said, “In the current difficult economic situation where the culture of donation has shrunk, the role of corporate social contribution has become more important than ever. We thank the corporate executives and employees who have shown interest in social contribution activities and actively participated in networking. Seoul will continue to work with the Seoul Social Welfare Council to spread a culture of sharing.”
