[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) will conduct rainy season safety inspections and measure the performance of the Safety and Health Management System (KOSHA-MS) at 13 construction sites in the province by next month.

This rainy season safety inspection will focus on ▲ground subsidence at construction sites and surrounding areas ▲stability of cut slopes ▲installation status of sedimentation tanks and drainage facilities in preparation for heavy rainfall.

In addition, GH will check the implementation of safety and health management policies and safety management activities at construction sites by next month to prevent accidents at vulnerable facilities and to establish a construction safety culture, reviewing the operation status of KOSHA-MS.

KOSHA-MS is a safety and health management system that systematically manages measures to prevent industrial accidents and was certified by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency last November.

Jeon Hyung-soo, Acting President (Vice President) of GH, stated, "We will do our best to achieve the goal of 'Zero Major Accidents and 50% Reduction in Industrial Accidents' through focused management of vulnerable sites during the rainy season and construction sites, and establish ESG management and a systematic safety and health management system."
