The opening ceremony of the Uljin Traditional Education and Culture Center is taking place.
원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Uljin Traditional Culture Education Center, which will contribute to the inheritance and preservation of traditional culture in the Uljin area of Gyeongbuk, opened on the 15th in Eumnae-ri, Uljin-eup.
About 100 people, including the Uljin County Governor, members of the National Assembly, heads of various organizations, and Hyanggyo members, attended the opening ceremony, where they participated in a ribbon-cutting, commemorative tree planting, and toured the education center.
The Uljin Traditional Culture Education Center, whose construction was promoted since 2018, was built with a total project budget of 3 billion KRW. Construction began in September 2020 and was completed in November 2021. The total site area is approximately 440 pyeong (1,445㎡), and the total floor area is about 270 pyeong (880㎡), with two above-ground floors.
The main facilities of the Uljin Traditional Culture Education Center include the office for Confucian scholars' organizations, meeting rooms, and classrooms. Various educational programs such as etiquette education, calligraphy, and classical Chinese classes will be offered.
Jeon Chang-geol, Uljin County Governor, said, "The Uljin Traditional Culture Education Center will operate various programs to inherit and preserve Uljin's traditional culture and contribute to nurturing talent," adding, "I hope it will become a cradle for nurturing youth with proper values through character education."
