[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] Police have summoned Yoo Deok-yeol, the 68-year-old mayor of Dongdaemun District, who is suspected of receiving money and valuables in exchange for employee promotions.
According to the police on the 16th, the Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency conducted two summons investigations of Mayor Yoo on the 3rd and 7th of this month.
Mayor Yoo is suspected of receiving tens of millions of won in money and valuables from district office employees in exchange for promotions. He is also suspected of using district office funds for personal purposes.
