'School Sports Education Forum' Held to Establish Measures for Protecting Student Athletes' Human Rights 원본보기 아이콘


[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education and the School Sports Promotion Association will hold the '2022 1st School Sports Education Public Forum' on the 16th at Korea National University of Education to devise measures to address educational deficits and protect the human rights of student athletes.


The forum will discuss the direction school sports education should take to support the resolution of educational deficits and the protection of student athletes' human rights, and establish concrete implementation plans. Teachers, parents, and officials from the Korea Sports Council will attend the forum.


Professor Lee Gyu-il of Kyungpook National University, who will present, will propose application plans for physical activity promotion programs through an analysis of school physical activities under the theme "Review and Application Plans of Domestic and International Case Programs for the Recovery of Physical Activity."


Professor Jang Seung-ho of San Jose State University will analyze the characteristics of the student athlete management system by school level in the United States, cases of human rights violations in student sports, and response systems, and suggest implications for domestic application. Following this, experts in the field of physical education, on-site teachers, student athletes, and parents will share diverse opinions during the discussion.


The Ministry of Education plans to hold two public forums annually focusing on current issues in school sports starting this year, and the presentations will be shared on the School Sports Portal website.
