[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will hold a social economy public procurement consultation meeting.
On the 16th, Gyeonggi Province announced that on the 17th, it will hold a 'Social Economy Public Procurement Consultation Meeting' at Gwanggyo Hall of the Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science Promotion in Gwanggyo Technovalley, Suwon, with the participation of 25 public institutions and 116 companies in the province.
This consultation meeting was planned to realize social value by introducing excellent social economy enterprise products to public institutions to induce purchases, and to provide social economy enterprises with opportunities to enter the public market.
Accordingly, unlike the existing method where institution officials visited the booths of participating companies for consultation, this year, through a prior demand survey, public institutions and companies were matched to enable efficient consultations.
In addition, promotional booths where companies can advertise their products will be installed throughout the venue to promote excellent social economy enterprise products.
Besides this, the province will hold performances at the opening ceremony, presentations of outstanding public procurement cases, and an explanation session for entry into the Gyeonggi Province Consumable Materials Mall (GGBIZ). Outside the venue, various events such as educational tool experiences and food and beverage tastings will be held.
Lee Hyun-ho, head of the Social Economy Division of the province, said, "Last year, the total public procurement amount for social economy in Gyeonggi Province reached 400 billion won, showing quantitative and qualitative growth in public procurement," and added, "We will strive to make this procurement consultation meeting a foundation for the growth of social economy enterprises."
