Jeonnam Governor Candidate Kim Young-rok Registers... Official Election Campaign Begins

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Kim Young-rok, governor of Jeonnam who declared his bid for re-election, officially began his election campaign on the 27th with the registration as a preliminary candidate.

On the morning of the same day, after completing the preliminary candidate registration procedure at the Jeonnam Election Commission, Governor Kim stated, “I have been confirmed as the Democratic Party candidate based on the great love and passionate support of the Jeonnam residents,” and declared, “I will join hands with the residents to start the journey toward the ‘Great Leap Jeonnam Era, the Jeonnam Happiness Era Soaring to the World.’”

He especially emphasized, “If the four years of the 7th local government term were a time to confirm Jeonnam’s potential and build the foundation for Jeonnam’s development, the next four years will be a historic time for Jeonnam to leap forward as a new growth axis of the Republic of Korea.”

Governor Kim also expressed his determination, saying, “Now that I have completed the preliminary candidate registration, I will work even harder focusing solely on the residents of Jeonnam.”

Prior to this, Governor Kim paid respects at the statue of President Kim Dae-jung in Namak Central Park and pledged, “I will open an era of ‘a just world where everyone lives well together,’ which President Kim dreamed of, and ‘a cultural flourishing era centered on Honam.’”
