[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] A man in his 40s who allegedly trespassed into his ex-lover's house without permission and made threatening contacts for refusing to meet has been arrested by the police.


The Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul announced on the 27th that they have arrested and are investigating a man in his 40s, Mr. A, on charges of trespassing and violating the Stalking Punishment Act.


According to the police, Mr. A is accused of entering his ex-lover Ms. B's house at around 11:50 a.m. on the 23rd, taking photos inside and sending them to Ms. B, and making about 20 threatening phone calls and text messages demanding to meet.


Police who responded to Ms. B's report arrested Mr. A on the spot in front of Ms. B's house. It is also known that Mr. A was drinking and drove a car to Ms. B's house, adding a charge of drunk driving.


The police have taken urgent protective measures against Mr. A, including a ban on approaching within 100 meters of Ms. B's residence and prohibition of contact via telecommunications, and are investigating the exact motive behind the crime.
