Five People Including Hwang Chunja, Bae Gisuk, Kim Jeongjae, Park Gyujeong, and Seo Jeongho, Preliminary Candidates for Seoul Yongsan-gu Mayor from People Power Party, Visit Central Party Office on 27th and Submit Official Letter Requesting One-Shot Primary Election for 8 Candidates

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 27th, five pre-candidates for the People Power Party's Yongsan District Mayor in Seoul?Hwang Chun-ja, Bae Gi-seok, Kim Jeong-jae, Park Gyu-jeong, and Seo Jeong-ho?visited the central party office to request a one-shot national primary election for the eight candidates.

These five, including pre-candidate Hwang Chun-ja who attempted suicide by poisoning during a hunger strike after being eliminated from the primary, visited the central party on the same day and submitted a joint statement from the five primary candidates.

They stated, "According to the regulations established during the merger process between the People Power Party and the People Party, a 100% national primary election through a resident opinion poll was to be held for eight candidates?seven from the People Power Party and one from the People Party. However, the Seoul City Party Public Official Committee unilaterally decided on three primary candidates without following the proper procedures. This is a direct violation of the fairness and common sense advocated by the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the People Power Party."

Notably, Hwang Chun-ja, who was in critical condition after poisoning herself during a hunger strike following elimination from the primary, also attended the site and reportedly gave an interview to reporters.
