Korea National Oil Corporation Conducts Charity Group Blood Donation to Alleviate Blood Supply Shortage

Employees of Korea National Oil Corporation are participating in a group blood donation to alleviate the blood supply shortage.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Korea National Oil Corporation is conducting a group blood donation to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.

This group blood donation will be held over two days on the 27th and 28th to help alleviate the blood supply shortage caused by the recent spread of the Omicron variant, with about 120 employees from the headquarters participating.

The blood donation will be conducted in compliance with quarantine guidelines such as limiting the number of applicants per time slot through prior reservation, temperature checks, and wearing masks to prevent COVID-19 infection.

The corporation has been holding group blood donation events annually since 2009, and since signing a business agreement with the Korean Red Cross Ulsan Blood Center last year for ‘Life Sharing that Saves Lives through Blood Donation,’ it has been conducting the event regularly twice a year.

Joseongsang, General Affairs Director of the corporation, said, “We hope that the corporation’s group blood donation will help patients and families struggling with the blood supply shortage,” and added, “The corporation will continue to practice various social contribution activities including group blood donations.”

This year as well, the Korea National Oil Corporation is steadily carrying out community sharing and coexistence activities such as donating funds for recovery from wildfires in Gangwon, supporting career and vocational training for disabled youth, donating PCs for neighbors lacking information access, recycling coffee grounds, and nationwide coastal cleanup activities.
