A film depicting the life and death of Father Kim Dae-geon will be released in the second half of the year. The production company Minyeonghwa announced on the 27th that the movie "Birth" recently completed filming in Jeju Island. It is a drama portraying Father Kim Dae-geon's steadfast faith, conviction, and martyrdom. Based on thorough research and investigation, it highlights his studies in Macau, the Opium War, the crossing of the West Sea on the Raphael, and the pioneering of maritime entry routes. The film is directed by Park Heung-sik, who directed "Second Twenty," "Gyeongui Line," and "Master of Reversal." The cast includes Yoon Si-yoon, Ahn Sung-ki, Yoon Kyung-ho, Lee Moon-sik, Kim Kang-woo, Lee Ho-won, Lim Hyun-soo, Ha Kyung, Song Ji-yeon, Lee Kyung-young, Shin Jung-geun, Choi Moo-sung, Kim Kwang-kyu, and Kang Mal-geum.
