[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Ewha Medical Center announced on the 27th that its affiliated Ewha Mokdong Hospital and Ewha Seoul Hospital have opened clinics dedicated to treating post-COVID-19 sequelae.
Ewha Mokdong Hospital operates the "Post-COVID Sequelae Clinic," while Ewha Seoul Hospital runs the "COVID Wellcare Clinic," treating representative sequelae such as hair loss, loss of smell and taste, decreased concentration and memory, acute renal failure, lung function abnormalities, and myocarditis.
Ewha Mokdong Hospital’s respiratory medicine department leads a multidisciplinary collaboration involving 11 departments including allergy, cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, neurology, psychiatry, urology, dermatology, rehabilitation medicine, and family medicine.
Professor Cheon Eun-mi of the Respiratory Medicine Department at Ewha Mokdong Hospital stated, "We will collaborate with various departments to treat the physical and mental post-COVID-19 sequelae. For rapid and accurate treatment, we will link specialized services such as blood tests, lung examinations, heart and neurological tests, as well as medication, rehabilitation, and psychological therapy to care for patients."
Additionally, Ewha Seoul Hospital involves professors from 15 departments including gastroenterology, cardiology, respiratory medicine, surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and rehabilitation medicine to treat post-COVID sequelae.
Joo Woong, Deputy Director of Ewha Seoul Hospital, said, "As a designated COVID-19 base hospital, we have opened the clinic not only to treat patients but also to manage and treat sequelae that occur after full recovery. Professors from various departments will do their best to treat these sequelae."
