[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gwangyang Steelworks Traditional Play Culture Talent Volunteer Group (Director Choi Wang-guk) gifted the children at Okryong Regional Children's Center, who need after-school care, with a unique play experience on the 25th.
Founded in April last year, the Traditional Play Culture Volunteer Group is a talent volunteer group that breathes new life into the daily lives of local residents through panel theater storytelling, traditional play, magic, laughter therapy, and other interactive methods of communication with the audience.
In particular, it is attracting attention by providing various cultural experience opportunities so that children can think creatively and grow into convergent talents.
On this day, the members prepared cup stacking games, such as quickly stacking cups, to help the children at Okryong Regional Children's Center develop concentration and teamwork.
The children enjoyed themselves by setting personal records while gradually increasing the difficulty from the basics and participating in team games that required coordination with friends.
While guiding the cup stacking play, the Traditional Play Culture Volunteer Group did not forget to share encouragement and various conversations to emotionally connect with the children so that they would not lose interest and would continue to challenge themselves until the end.
One student who participated in the play said, "Today was my first time playing cup stacking, and it was so much fun. Among the games, I felt the happiest when I won the game where I stacked cups using only one hand with a friend."
A volunteer who participated in the service said, "It was truly a rewarding time because the children participated in the cup stacking play with fun and without losing concentration," adding, "We will continue to provide customized play programs for children after school at various regional children's centers to help our local children grow up healthy."
Meanwhile, the Gwangyang Steelworks Traditional Play Culture Talent Volunteer Group signed a cultural performance business agreement last September with the Jungma Disabled Welfare Center and the Regional Children's Center Association in Gwangyang City to eliminate cultural blind spots in the region, regularly and continuously providing diverse and meaningful cultural performances to neighbors who find it difficult to enjoy cultural life easily.
