[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] 'Saenghwal Maekju' announced on the 26th that it was selected as the 'Franchise You Want to Join' in 2022. This marks the fourth consecutive year of selection.
Hosted by the Korea Foodservice & Franchise Promotion Institute and organized by Maxus Consulting, the 2022 Franchise You Want to Join selects the top 3% of franchises from 12,000 franchise brands registered with the Fair Trade Commission through big data analysis and announces them.
Saenghwal Maekju is a craft beer platform that offers differentiated craft beers through collaboration with breweries across the country. Franchise owners can frequently change the beer lineup they sell according to the commercial district and customer characteristics, making it a consistently popular startup item in the craft beer industry. Since opening its first store in Yeouido in 2014, it has grown continuously for eight years and currently operates over 200 stores nationwide.
Despite producing high-quality beer, local breweries faced difficulties due to lack of distribution channels. Saenghwal Maekju distributes these craft beers to its nationwide stores, establishing a profit structure for mutual growth. For franchise owners who faced operational restrictions due to social distancing, the headquarters has fully covered marketing expenses such as product placement in public broadcast dramas and TV advertisements, implementing a win-win policy.
Additionally, even before COVID-19, Saenghwal Maekju launched the delivery brand 'Saenghwal Chicken' and has been providing shop-in-shop spaces free of charge without franchise fees to existing franchise owners. This has been well received as it offers an additional revenue model for existing franchisees.
