[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Samsung Electronics is participating in the '2022 Low-Income Energy Efficiency Improvement Project' organized by the Korea Energy Foundation to help energy-vulnerable households have a healthy summer.

Samsung Electronics will supply its air conditioner model 'Wall-Mounted Wide' to a total of 10,000 households selected by local governments. The product installation will be carried out sequentially until the end of June.

The Korea Energy Foundation, established in 2006, is an organization under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Since 2019, it has been implementing an energy welfare project that supports cooling appliances such as air conditioners for energy-vulnerable groups.

Samsung's 'Wall-Mounted Wide' air conditioner features a larger fan that delivers abundant cool air, quickly lowering indoor temperatures even in the peak of summer. Especially, its 'Up-Down Swing' function adjusts the direction of airflow to evenly distribute cool air to every corner. It also offers a 'Tropical Night Comfort' function that automatically adjusts temperature and operation modes to help users sleep comfortably, and is equipped with a 'Wide Display' that allows easy checking of necessary information from a distance.

Additionally, it is equipped with an ultra-energy-saving digital inverter that automatically adjusts cooling capacity according to indoor temperature, reducing power consumption compared to fixed-speed air conditioners.

Oh Chi-oh, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Korea, said, "Ahead of the summer season expected to bring extreme heat, we are pleased that this project can help improve the living environment of energy-vulnerable groups," adding, "We will continue to work with various partners to create comfortable living environments."
