[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] CJ OnStyle's food brand ‘Ohharu Jayeon Gadeuk’ has partnered with the famous dessert cafe ‘Eupcheon-ri 382’ to launch ‘Eupcheon-ri Misutgaru’.

According to CJ OnStyle on the 26th, ‘Eupcheon-ri 382’ is a dessert cafe headquartered in Daegu. Its signature menu item is Misutgaru, which features the savory taste of traditional Misutgaru made following old manufacturing methods. Popular influencers who tasted Eupcheon-ri 382’s Misutgaru posted reviews saying “I only eat Misutgaru from here,” creating a buzz and turning it into a nationwide famous restaurant.

The Eupcheon-ri Misutgaru, created jointly by CJ OnStyle and Eupcheon-ri 382, contains the cafe’s know-how. It goes through a meticulous seven-step manufacturing process including washing, soaking, steaming, and drying to bring out its unique nutty flavor. Additionally, it contains a balanced mix of 12 kinds of domestic grains such as barley, brown rice, and black beans, making it nutritious enough to serve as a meal replacement. The product uses erythritol instead of sugar for a healthy sweetness, has passed tests for 320 types of residual pesticides, and minimizes additives such as synthetic preservatives and colorants, allowing the whole family to consume it with confidence.

Eupcheon-ri Misutgaru will be introduced live for the first time on CJ OnStyle at 4:30 PM on April 28, with various prize benefits offered for purchases made during the broadcast. Also, on the 28th only, customers who purchase Ohharu Jayeon Gadeuk products twice or spend more than 100,000 won will receive ‘Organic Sprouted Barley’ worth about 40,000 won as a gift.

Park Hee-jung, team leader of CJ OnStyle’s Health Food team, said, “With the retro trend and the popularity of healthy foods, Halmaennial (Halmae + Millennial) food is emerging as a trend,” adding, “We plan to introduce fresh Halmae food products like Eupcheon-ri Misutgaru for those who want to enjoy the unique, non-stimulating healthy taste of Korean desserts.”
