[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] Kwon Deok-cheol, Minister of Health and Welfare, tested positive for COVID-19 on the 25th.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare stated, "Minister Kwon confirmed a positive result on a self-test kit and underwent a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test at the Sejong City Public Health Center, which confirmed the positive diagnosis around 6 p.m. today."

They added, "Employees who had close contact with Minister Kwon, such as conversations or meetings lasting more than 10 minutes, were instructed to undergo COVID testing."

Minister Kwon completed his third COVID-19 vaccination in March, May, and November of last year. He will be quarantined for seven days starting today.
