[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] On the day senior officials of the U.S. Biden administration took a train to visit Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, Russian forces bombed five Ukrainian train stations.

According to foreign media on the 25th (local time), Oleksandr Kamyshin, CEO of Ukraine's state-owned railway company, claimed via his Telegram channel that "Russian forces are systematically destroying our railway infrastructure."

Local Ukrainian broadcasts also reported that five train stations in central and western Ukraine were hit by missile attacks that lasted for an hour, resulting in multiple casualties.

The attack occurred on the same day that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin visited Kyiv, met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and returned.

The two officials traveled by train from Poland to Kyiv the previous day and returned to Poland on the same day.

Details such as which train stations were bombed by Russian forces and the extent of the damage have not been disclosed.
