On the 25th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had booked former soccer player A (30) on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.
At around 3:50 a.m. on the 23rd, A caused an accident while driving in the wrong direction on Teheran-ro in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in a heavily intoxicated state. The police received a report that he was trying to flee after driving the wrong way, dispatched officers to the scene, and apprehended A while he was attempting to escape.
At the time of the accident, A's blood alcohol concentration was confirmed to be above 0.08%, the level for license cancellation.
The police stated, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident."
