[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] CJ announced on the 25th that it has successfully completed the 'Vietnam Girls' Education Project,' which was conducted over three years starting in 2019, targeting ethnic minority girls in Vietnam.

This project, part of CJ's global social contribution activities, was promoted as part of the 'CJ-UNESCO Girls' Education Campaign' that began in 2014. From February 2019 to this month, it was carried out in Ha Giang, Ninh Thuan, and Soc Trang provinces of Vietnam, areas known for their high ethnic minority populations and underdeveloped living conditions.

The project aimed to expand educational and school accessibility for ethnic minority girls and improve employment opportunities, reaching approximately 42,000 individuals. To improve overall awareness of girls' education and environmental changes, parents, local residents, and teachers also participated. Along with various educational and career exploration opportunities, practical support was provided by linking with local companies and institutions to support women's employment according to the target groups.

On the 23rd, CJ held a workshop at the Ninh Thuan Provincial Department of Education in Vietnam to commemorate the successful completion of the project. The workshop was attended by Min Hee-kyung, Head of CJ's Social Contribution Promotion Team, Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Education Administration Bureau of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education, and Nguyen Hue Khai, Director of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Department of Education and Training, among others.

Min Hee-kyung, Head of CJ's Social Contribution Promotion Team, said, "Although there was a risk of suspension due to the global pandemic, we are deeply moved to have safely completed the project thanks to the dedication of the Ministry of Education of Vietnam, as well as the on-site teaching staff and local communities in Ha Giang, Soc Trang, and Ninh Thuan provinces where the project was conducted." She added, "CJ plans to continue promoting various global social contribution activities so that children worldwide can receive systematic education without discrimination and grow into outstanding talents."

Meanwhile, in addition to the Vietnam Girls' Education Project, CJ has been promoting a global girls' education campaign for a better life for girls worldwide, especially in developing countries, through a strategic partnership with UNESCO since 2014.
