[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, announced on this day that it will resume operations of 495 senior centers in the region starting from the 25th, following the full lifting of social distancing measures.
However, only seniors who have completed the third vaccine dose are allowed to use the facilities, and usage is permitted only after verification through the electronic vaccination certificate (COOV app), vaccination certificate, or sticker under the responsibility of the president or secretary.
Even after reopening, programs with a high risk of droplet generation, such as singing classes, cannot be operated, and users must maintain a 1-meter distance, ventilate regularly, and wear masks as before.
Meals are allowed only after installing partitions, seating with at least 1 meter spacing, or opening to the outside, and masks must be worn before and after eating to prevent COVID-19 infection.
Village festivals or Bokdariim (traditional communal meals) are not permitted.
A city official said, “We hope that the resumption of senior center operations will serve as an opportunity to relieve stress and depression among seniors who have faced restrictions on leisure activities.”
