[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 25th, the Democratic Party Jeonnam Provincial Party Committee (Chairman Kim Seung-nam) confirmed and announced the primary election for Suncheon City Council members.

Among the Democratic Party's candidates for 22 local district city council members, 13 were recommended unopposed, and the remaining 9 seats will be decided through a primary election.

The candidates confirmed as city council nominees are preliminary candidates Oh Haeng-suk, Jang Kyung-won, Jeong Hong-jun, Jeong Byeong-hoe, Kim Kyung-hwan, Seo Seon-ran, Jeong Gwang-hyun, Kim Mi-yeon, Jang Kyung-soon, Choi Hyun-ah, Kim Young-jin, and Park Gye-su.

Among them, former secretary-general of the Democratic Party Suncheon Gap District Committee and city council members known as secretary and close aides of Chairman So Byung-chul were assigned the 'Ga' number, considered a safe winning position.

On the other hand, city council members Lee Hyun-jae and Jang Sook-hee, who have been praised for their good performance, were cut off.

Regarding this, some netizens reacted, saying, "Isn't there a hit list that had only been rumored until now?" and "Is it a nomination process to promote close aides with many problems and cut off candidates who work well?"

As the Democratic Party Jeonnam Provincial Party Committee continues to suffer from nomination controversies day after day, the public's fatigue with politics has reached its peak.

The majority of citizens believe that if nominations are not made by the citizens and for the citizens, the Democratic Party has no future.
